Our veterinary team bring a wealth of experience to the practice and have individually obtained high standards of professional qualifications. We are a Royal College Registered Practice for Veterinary Nurse Training.
Eddie was born in the Highlands of Scotland and has been practicing in Northern Ireland since 1960. Eddie has a keen interest in Homeopathy, Small Animal Medicine and Surgery.
In the clinic he encourages students in extra mural studies (EMS) and is delighted when they achieve entrance to University and follow their ‘dream’ in veterinary science. Outside of veterinary medicine Eddie has a great interest in music, and enjoys relaxing listening to a variety of types of music.

Craig qualified from Edinburgh University in 1998. After working in Cumbria he joined his father in the practice in 2001 and is now an equal partner. He has a keen interest in Large Animals, Ultrasound scanning and horses.
Craig and his wife Tamar have four children, Eddie, Aoife, Joseph and Tristan. They enjoy having a range of animals around them, a dog, rabbits, a cat, Micro Pigs, Guinea Pigs, Pigs and two horses. The children are thoroughly involved in the care and welfare of all their animals.
Craig is greatly interested in Classic Tractors, and in his spare time enjoys restoring them.
Eddie and Craig are ably supported in all aspects of the veterinary work by three very capable Veterinary Surgeons namely:
Claire graduated from University of Glasgow and joined the team in summer 2015. She enjoys meeting up with her friends and socialising at the weekend. At home Claire has a Staffordshire Bull Terrier called Tilly that she rescued from the Dogs Trust in 2011. She has a keen interest in both large and small animals.
Grace graduated from University College Dublin in 2016 and joined the team in Spring 2017. Grace is from Waterford and. Grace enjoys travelling; she was in Panama last year working in a volunteer medical group with small animals and she was in New Zealand for a couple of months working with horses. Grace has a keen interest in equine and loves cats. As you can also see she loves to travel. In her spare time she enjoys horse riding, keeping active and also has chickens at home!
Charalompos Prokopiou (Harris)
Harris is from Cyprus, he graduated from University of Medicine Budapest in June 2016, and joined the team in April 2017. Harris is originally from a Dairy farm in Cyprus and has a keen interest in all aspects of a mixed practice! In his spare time he enjoys football and socialising.
Steffi graduated from Leipzig, Germany in 1993 and she joined the team in January 2017. She lives locally in Eglinton and has 2 sons. Steffi has a border collie, 2 cats, a goat and a donkey. She has a keen interest in small animals and will be based in the clinic. In her spare time she loves running and outdoor activities.
Miss Isabel Buehler
‘Animal Eye Doctor’
In addition to our registered veterinary surgeons Dr Isabel Buehler, ‘Animal Eye Doctor’ attends at our clinic on a regular basis to carry out specialist ophthalmology services. She is a member of the British Association of Veterinary Ophthalmologists.
Emma graduated from the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest in June 2016 and joined the team in August that same year.
Emma comes from County Meath, Ireland and enjoys all aspects of mixed practice.
She has 3 dogs and a horse called Danú. In her spare time she plays Gaelic, horse riding and socialising with friends.
Our veterinary nurses play an invaluable role in striving to provide and excellent caring service for you and your pet. As well as reception duties, record keeping and drug accountability they support the veterinary surgeons in their various roles. The veterinary nurses also carry out various procedures in which they have professional training and expertise.
Sharon has been working in the clinic since 2002, she has been brought up on a farm and has always had a keen interest in animals. She has had a range of pets over the years from fish and rabbits to pot bellied pigs. She qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2009 within the clinic and has worked enthusiastically with all staff and clients. She has undertaken numerous courses and recently received recognition of completion of Advanced Pet Health Counsellor. As well as being senior nurse in the clinic she is also the appointed clinical coach for veterinary nurse training through Greenmount College. During her time off she enjoys helping with the Girl Guides, sewing, quilting and being outdoors.
Sharon is efficiently assisted by Glenda, Lynne, Catherine, Wendy and Emily.
Animal Nursing Assistant
Catherine has been working in the practice since 2013, she loves working with all animals but has a special interest in dogs. Catherine lives locally and has a collie x called "Zara". She is not from a farming back ground but likes getting out to the farms and helping with TB testing. Catherine also has an HND in Small Animal Care she is currently studying a Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing at Greenmount College. In her spare time she enjoys running, socializing and shopping.
Glenda has worked in the practice since 2006. She has a love for all animals both large and small. She has had a wide range of pets over the years ranging from hamsters and rabbits to horses and sheep. Glenda has a keen interest in horses and even hand reared her own foal as her mare took ill and was unable to feed him. She also has hand reared both kittens and puppies for the clinic. In her spare time she enjoys riding her horse "Junior" and spending time with her 3 dogs and daughter Hannah.
Trainee Veterinary Nurse
Lynne has been working in the clinic since April 2013.
She has successfully completed her Veterinary Nursing course in Greenmount College, and is now a fully qualified Veterinary Nurse.
Lynne is from a farming background and has her own flock of pedigree Zwartble sheep.
Lynne is Secretary of City of Derry Young Farmers Club and is the proud recipient of many awards. Lynne enjoys spending time on the farm and also loves to go travelling.
Auxiliary Veterinary Nurse
Wendy has been working in the clinic since May 2014. Wendy lives on a beef and sheep farm and is very keen working with large animals. She enjoys the veterinary medicine side of the practice and is keen to progress her knowledge in this. In her spare time she likes going to the cinema, riding her horse and helping her dad on the farm.
Auxiliary Veterinary Nurse
Emily joined us in June 2016, she enjoys working with small animals and equine. She has a Labrador called Honey and a cat called Smokie.
In her spare time she loves to travel, go shopping and socialise with friends. Emily hopes to go on and do her Veterinary Nursing training next year.
